UPDATE
I am beside myself and thankful for the generosity of each of you who have donated. Once again I have set a goal and you have generously stepped up to the plate. At the current time, together, we have served clean water for 26 people for the next 20 years. Amazing. Thank you to each and every one of you. While it isn't necessary, I am upping the goal once again hoping that within the next 2 weeks I have to make another update. charity:water would allow us to give beyond a goal but it might throw some off who want to give but see that the goal has been met. Lives are being affected by your generosity. Mine included. christian
UPDATE: Thanks so much to each of you for helping to reach the original $250 goal! In less than 8 hours you provided 12 individuals with clean drinking water for the next 20 years! You've all inspired me to set our sights a little higher, care to shoot for $500? Yep, me too. Thank you all again for your desire to help others. christian
Original note: Although we often make it out to be, Christmas can't only be about wish lists and gift guides. Startling facts like, "one out of every eight people in this world don't have access to clean water" should both scare us and motivate us to find ways to help. Knowing full well that there are plenty of places you can put your money this year, I'd encourage you to see the importance of providing clean water to every person in this world. Lowering disease rates, lengthening life-spans and raising the quality of life are just a few of the many reasons why this resource can help and remind us how much we take it for granted. Please understand, I want to impose no pressure on you to help. If you're inclined to take part in this little mission, thank you. If you're not, thank you, at least now you've been exposed to the need and might reconsider in the future. A modest goal of $250 can help provide water for twenty years to twelve (12) individuals. I'd love for us together to reach this goal and possibly even exceed it. We are a blessed people and thankfully have the opportunity to bless others. Care to help give a drink? Thanks, Christian & Melanie Ross http://eight90.com |
