In The Drake's words...
Happy New Year!
We are so excited to have found a way to help give the gift of life to other families and children: the simple and amazing gift of clean water. Please watch the video that inspired us to start. In September of 2009, we donated to a friend's campaign and watched our little boys cheer as they gave five people clean water. We were simply inspired by the idea that $20 could bring clean water to one person for 20 years. In December, we decided to start our own campaign and raise $5000 to help fund the building of a well for 250 children and families, a whole village. Little did we know that the village that surrounds US -- our incredible family and friends -- would take the campaign to a level we had never dreamed of. We are now on our way to helping to fund three wells!! In December, your unbelievable donations showed us the true meaning of Christmas. On January 2nd and 3rd, with the help of family, friends, and generous sponsors, Will's bottle drive raised over $4000 towards a well. Wow. The last week of January will see a charity:auction on Jenny's blog. And from now until Valentines Day, Jack is running his own "change for change" project. Our families are saving our spare pennies to help our littlest one make a drop in the bucket. Our hopes and plans to climb our charity:water hill to fetch a pail of water have been more than realized. Because of you. And we can't wait to keep going.
