WalkToWater will be running 3 campaigns in all -- this is the third and final. Thanks to all of you that gave during our first two campaigns, we raised 24% of our total goal of $10,000.

Here's how it all started.

Last year we picked up a book. In the pages of that book were stories of hunger, poverty, disease and thirst. But the one that stood out to us most was thirst.

We found out that all over the world women and children couldn't go to school or work because they had to walk many miles, each day, to fetch water. Not only did they have to walk long distances, but the water they were fetching was nothing you or i would ever think of drinking, it's full of dirt, bacteria and disease.

Because hours were spent fetching water, the women had no time to earn an income, and the children had no time to get an education. I bet you see where this is going...

We thought if we could give someone clean water right in their village, they could turn that time into something productive. Their water could become a source of life instead of a source of sickness and death.

That's when we found Charity: Water.
