In The Whitney's words...
We are the Whitney Family!
The Whitney's are a group of six that include Jeff, Tara, Mckenna (13), Drew (11), Nathan (9), and Anna (6). We all love water. To play in, surf in, splash in, swim in - but also to drink. We love clean water the most. Who doesn't? One week after seeing the Charity: Water video online, all six of us came together and decided that we wanted to give up our birthday gifts. Even our six year old is willing. Glitter-y pink presents or clean water?! No brainer, right? But it won't stop there. The kids have thought to hand out cards at school and get classmates involved, give up drinking everything BUT water and donate the amount we would have spent on soda, juice, etc. We have a lot of ideas and will do everything we can to meet our goal, starting with our own donation. Did you know that just $20 can give one person clean water for two decades? No amount is too small - imagine if four people donate just $5 - twenty years of water for one person! It is a simple yet powerful thought. We can make change. Substantial change. Today. We know our goal is big - but so are we - TOGETHER. Can you help us? |
