My birthday wish: give clean and safe drinking water to some of the billion living without it

As an environmental health professional, I know the simplest solutions are usually the most effective. What could be more simple and essential than water?

A billion people in the world are living without clean water today.

45,000 people will die this week alone from contracting deadly diseases from contaminated water. The lucky ones won't, but still walk hours each day to get dirty water to give to their families.

$30 would be awesome, one for each year of my fortunate life, but any amount will make a difference.
