On 2/11/11, a few of my friends and I will be hosting a party at the Alvin Ailey Studios in New York City. Instead of just throwing another event, we decided to turn it into a benefit night where the the proceeds will go towards helping people gain access to clean water.

If you're like me, you don't spend too much time thinking about water - it's everywhere we go. When we're thirsty, we flip a handle or push a button. When we're dirty, we twist a shower knob.

But for a billion people on the planet, it's not. Millions of women and children have to walk hours each day to get water from muddy ponds and rivers. And much of that water is infested with parasites and leeches. In fact, 80% of all diseases in the world are caused by unsafe drinking water and lack of sanitation.

So, here's the deal - come out and join us for a night of great music with Peter Bradley Adams and Cate Song, some drinks, and good fun. All you have to do is donate $40 (the cover) here and leave your name (email is optional) so we can put you on the guest list.

And the great thing about donating to charity: water is that 100% of donations go directly to the water projects. In other words, 100% of your cover charge goes directly towards building a well and not covering the cost of the party.
