Just imagine if you had to run a 5K every day to get a basic item that many of us take for granted- water

The Big Bunny 5K is proud to support the efforts of charity: water as they work to bring clean drinking water to people all over the world. Just imagine if you had to run a 5K each and every day to get a basic item that many of us take for granted-- water. But this is not the clean water most of us a used to, this water has been sitting in a stagnate pool for months and is brimming with parasites and bacteria. This may seem grim, but over 800 million people in the developing world wake up to this reality each and every day. It is far from hopeless though because when access to clean water becomes available it can change everything.

When people have access to clean drinking water their entire community is changed. The walk for water that used to take three hours now takes 15 minutes and the water is safe to drink. This gives children the time they need to attend school and adults the opportunity to start their own small businesses. Communities are able to set up functional latrines and hand washing stations to help stop the spread of disease. A dying community can be transformed into a thriving one and it all starts with water.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
