One of the things that has always shocked me the most is how on a planet surrounded by so much water that there are so many people who get sick or die from it because they don't have what most of us take for granted, a clean supply of it.
This year I'm celebrating my birthday all month as per usual but I am also asking that you help me do something a special.
I don't want drinks when we hang out, or virtual cards or twitter shout outs, I simply want you to help me, help charity: water provide clean water.
Women and children around the world walk hours every day to collect water for their families. Can you imagine not being able to just go in the kitchen and turn on the faucet and get a drink of water? I can't and frankly I think that blows.
Just $20 can give a person clean water to drink. Yep, $20. The cost of 5 venti chai's or a cocktail or two at the club.
So, I am asking that you donate to this very worthy cause and help me celebrate my birthday, which is Earth Day in the best possible way.
100% of the money we raise will directly fund water projects around the world, and when those projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made.
Pretty sweet, right?
Thank you for your time!
How about a donation AND a Twitter shout? Too worthwhile a cause to ignore.
Everyone should have access to clean water.
Happy Birthday!
