This photo is of my family having access to so much fresh, clean water, we are literally bathing and swimming in it... what a luxury!

TODAY is my birthday and I'm really thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year. Although I'm turning 45, millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.

When I saw the video of the parasites, bacteria and viruses living in people's water and watched the little girl drinking and vomiting, drinking and vomiting (because she was so thirsty and there was nothing else) - it truly broke my heart.

SO THIS YEAR, instead of gifts, or cards, or birthday wishes, I'm asking you to join with me in providing fresh, clean water to 45 children - one child for every year I've been on this planet!

Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.

p.s. I thoroughly researched a number of water charities before selecting this one - the founder's story is amazing and the fund allocation is stellar, i.e. you won't be funding their admin, the money is actually going to install the water filtration system or drill the well!
