Hi!
We wanted to write and ask our family and friends to take a chance and embark with us on something our little family is so excited about. This year, instead of the usual birthday traditions, we're donating our birthdays and giving the gift of clean, safe water to others through the work of charity:water. Katie and I turn 30 this November 23rd, and December 22nd, and we want these days (and months) to be about giving to others in need.
So here's the question we'd like to ask: Would you — our community of friends and family — donate $30 so that together we may give the gift of water to others?
Any amount you choose to give - we appreciate deeply. Every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in Tigray, Ethiopia. charity: water will show us exactly which projects we have ALL funded in Tigray once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll ALL be able to see the communities we've helped.
Our starting goal is to raise $1500.00 by December 22, 2012. That's just 50 donations of $30! We can do it.
Please join us in being part of the bigger story.
With Love,
Katie & Joel
