On 1st October 2012, I'm turning 35.

Throughout my life I've been extremely lucky.

I've had birthday presents/drinks bought for me each year from my extremely generous family and good friends - who have also honoured me with their company on many occasions.

Sometimes I've not expressed my gratitude as much as I could have for this, because at times I've been so caught up in myself.

That's why this year I wanted to do something different.

This year, I firstly want to thank everyone for their previous generosity for which I am truly, profoundly grateful. And secondly I want to ask you to give one more time (or if we've met recently, it might be the first time!).

This year, all I'm asking for is clean water, for the people who need it most.

And I'm willing to give up drinking alcohol for a year if you're willing to donate to my campaign and help me reach my goal of $650.

If I can raise this amount, it will mean around 10 people in Rwanda get access to clean water.

Here are the details of how your money will help:

Women and children in Rwanda walk for hours every day, up and down mountains, just to collect water from rivers. And the worst part? The water they collect can make them really sick.

Terrible right? Well, we can actually do something about it. Just $65 can give someone in Rwanda clean water (that's approximately £40).

So I'm asking everyone for my age in donations. Give $35 (£22 approx) or whatever you can afford and help me give life's most basic need.

The best part is that 100% of the money we raise will directly fund water projects in the Rwanda, and when those projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made. I can't think of a better birthday gift. Join me!
