Most people that read this live in 1st-world countries. We will never know the anguish of not having clean water to drink.

I almost never do things like this. Most of the time you can't track the money, there are alternate agendas (spread religion, tax breaks) or it's not actually fixing a problem (give fish as opposed to teach how to fish). But this is different.

For ever dollar that people contribute here, I will match it. Put forth a few bucks to a project that builds infrastructure (important) and provides a basic need.

Eat out one less day this week and donate $10.
Don't drink this week and donate $20.
Buy all your groceries from the outside of the store (perishable/fresh vs boxed/canned) and donate $30.
Don't buy that latest iGadget case on Amazon and donate $40.

Help someone else survive. Donate $1 from your change bowl.

Just because we live in the society that we do doesn't mean that we can ignore our world neighbors. Even though we have water, because they don't, it's Still Our Problem because we can do something about it.

p.s. The water in the picture above is really gross - from the drainage ditch outside my apartment. Yet, many drink and bathe in water like it every day.
