Clean water is something that we have taken for granted all of our lives.

But did you know that nearly ONE BILLION people do not have access to clean water?

And that more than 3.5 million people DIE EACH YEAR from water-related disease?

Or that EVERY 20 SECONDS a child DIES from water-related disease?

We didn't. Not until our adoption prompted us to do some research. We can hardly even wrap our minds around these statistics. And we are reminded of just how BLESSED we are in this country, even when times are tough.

So we decided that we need to DO SOMETHING by launching our very own clean water campaign!

By teaming up with charity: water, 100% of the funds raised will go directly toward a water project (see above for how the money is spent).

Would you consider donating just $5 to help save lives? Or $20, which will give clean water to one person for 20 years? AND THEN, would you commit to posting and/or sending our campaign link to your friends and family via your blog, facebook, or email?

We really don't realize how blessed we are in this country, even when times are tough. So many people easily drop $5 on a trip to Starbucks. Instead, would you be willing to use that $5 to give someone clean water? We would love to hear of people "giving up a luxury" over the next 3 months to help those in need! Feel free to share stories! =)

What's our "giving" story, you ask? Well, because charity: water campaigns last for 3 months, our campaign happens to end on Christmas Day! So we have decided to "give up" our Christmas this year to clean water! We will be asking anyone who would normally purchase us a gift to instead donate to our clean water campaign. We will be doing the same as our "gifts" for each other!
