Hi,
Did you know that almost a billion people in the world live without clean water. Some walk miles every day to get to the nearest source: a stagnant, parasite-infested stream or pond. They lug it back to their families. They suffer from diarrhea, worms and skin diseases because they can't wash themselves. It's something we can barely imagine with our faucets, showers and washing machines. Additionally, we never have to worry about diseases being in our water.

Charity: water seems to have a solution figured out.
So we set up this page to give everyone a chance to donate to this great cause. 100% of all funds we raise go directly to the work on the ground. And when the projects are finished (in about 18 months) charity: water will show us the community we've helped!

Between now and the end of the year, We hope to raise $1500 right here on this page.

Last Christmas we ventured into giving up traditional gift giving and receiving. We all decided again we like this plan since we are essentially material-rich people giving other material-rich people more... materials. To us it feels more like we are meeting the purpose of the holiday by giving to those who don't have even something as basic as clean water.

The water project you helped with from 2010 VP Christmas has 6 more months until we see where the well ended up. While we look forward to seeing, we want to encourage you to help fund another well.

For 2011 Christmas, we are asking you, our friends, to give us a gift. Meeting the $1500 goal will be a very exciting gift to us!
