On May 28, I'm turning 31.

At first, this seemed old, and I confess feeling stuck in a rut of boredom and routine.

But then I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water.

Birthdays, for Blinns, are about stories. We go to ballgames and eat at favorite restaurants. We remember growing up. This year, rather than staying in a funk about being a year older, I want to give a community a better story. I want to give them clean water.

I'm asking for $31 from everyone I know - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations.

More and more, I am thinking radical generosity is how we're supposed to live...so I'm putting my money where my mouth is. If you give, I'll match your gift, dollar for dollar, up to $2500. If you give, and I give, we can dig a well.

Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.

My goal is to raise $5000 in the next three months as a way to celebrate 31 amazing years. Please consider giving and thanks for being a part of my story.
