My Sweet Monkeys
The Last 3 years I have asked that you donate to charity:water in lieu of a gift. It is also in lieu of a party that I would throw (or pretend someone was throwing for me)
I can point out what a party costs, what you might spend on the price of a drink, an obligatory gift or just a card, transportation to and from said celebration, etc. It does add up, doesn't it?
I know I would enjoy your company, delight in the attention, laugh at any card that didn't reference a Cougar, pretend that your gag gift was funny.."Oh, adult diapers! Hilarious."
To be honest I never tire of that song dedicated to me:
Happy Birthday To You
Happy Birthday dear Emma
I love that bloody song although I have heard other people serenaded with the same song! My name is changed but I recognize the melody.
*There are various lawsuits pending and piracy issues.
So...I "give up my birthday" and ask that you donate my age to give fresh water to people who don't have the luxury.
Yes, I am forced to announce my age (although you can donate more or less.) but if I didn't tell you how old I was turning I would be denying someone water, life.
$1.00 US dollar is a YEAR of water to someone! You are making a difference, a life saving donation with every dollar (100% goes to fund water projects.)
If we reach $5000. we can build a well giving 400 people water for 20 years.
I have been a part of charity:water since day one, in 2.5 years we built 1341 projects in 14 countries.
That is 741,110 people served.
We are citizens of the world, the economy has left a lot of people without but if you just give $1.00 or $5.00 or $42.00 you are giving life.
So, I am not giving up my birthday I am allowing someone to celebrate theirs.
Please donate or sign on to the September campaign.
Thank you and Lots of Love to you All.
