On October 28, I'm turning 24. Yikes. TWENTYFOUR OHMYGOSH.
But then I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water.
Normally, I'm not much of a birthday person but now I feel differently. In fact, I'm celebrating my birthday like never before. Watch the video and see what I mean.
So I'm not scared of turning 24 anymore.
I'm asking for a little moolah from everyone I know - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.
My goal is to raise $500 by my birthday, with the idea being 24th Birthday= $24 donations, though any amount will help. Even if I don't reach it, whatever I do raise goes straight to making a well anyways. Win-win, really.

Happy Birthday Pookster:) I spent the last 4 years trying to get people in the US to save water by taking shorter showers...it is amazing how lucky we are in this country...this is an awesome idea!
